Zen and the Art of Getting Your Website Done

by Michelle Murrain on February 25, 2011

I’ve had my sleeves rolled up for most of the last 15 years in building websites and web-based databases. It’s in my blood. I’ve used most back-end web technologies invented at least once, and I’ve dived deeply into a number of them over the years. Right now, my focus is on small-scale Drupal and WordPress websites, setting up and administering the LAMP/R stack, CiviCRM, and strategic planning around internet technology of all sorts. I’m also interested in being part of a team building larger-scale websites. I know more than most Drupal folks about integrating Drupal and Salesforce.

I’ve worked mostly with nonprofit organizations, but have done a little bit of work with for-profit companies. I am especially interested in faith-based organizations, cooperatives of all sorts, small companies with truly sustainable business practices, and organizations whose focus is on LGBT issues and/or women and people of color.

My rates are reasonable, and I love to barter. Really. That said, I work part-time, and my volunteer efforts are focused in areas outside of technology, so bartering doesn’t include bartering a donation to your organization. Sorry about that. But bartering life’s necessities would be more than welcome.

I have a list of example projects and the like.

And, I love to collaborate. Over my years of work in the nonprofit sector, and working with other nonprofit technologists of all stripes, we’ve got a pretty impressive network of geek brains that can build what it is you need and want in a web presence, or in a database system. Some are designers, some back-end plumbers like me, others data/database gurus. All of the folks listed below are folks I work with, and are ethical, super smart, talented people that I respect.
