As I said last week, today is my day to host the Carnival of Nonprofit Consultants. I chose this as my question of the week: "Is your work changing because of the economy? How? What adjustments are you making?"
- Jane, at FIO Partners, talks about how important it is to focus on the value that consultants provide to their clients.
- The Nonprofits Assistance Fund blog talks about how during uncertain times, organizations should think about moving into "turnaround mode."
- Although they didn't say this was related to the economy, Strategynut gives seven tips for building trust with your consulting clients.
- A Small Change blog talks about annual board solicitations.
- Donor Power blog asks whether brand kills fundraising? Answer: no.

I am so glad I have connected
I am so glad I have connected with this blog, as of yesterday. One of the things I have typically communicated, but am now, more than ever emphasizing, to my clients is that I am available to fill in the gaps. I can do a little or a lot, and work within their budget to complete the loop. The grassroots and small nonprofits I typically work with cannot hire full time development employees (or full time anyone). I offer to work with them on a project basis. This seems to be the work flow at this point, rather than some of the long term consulting contracts I was experiencing when I had my business in Houston three years ago.
