		<description>Most of the units that I have completed in my course (Grad Dip Science Communication) have included a small assignment entitled &quot;Reflection&quot;. I have found this invaluable as a way to move forward in my course of study.

Also, in the middle of last year I participated in a &#039;Running Small Group Sessions&#039; workshop. This session also stressed that self-reflection, perhaps 15 min writing in a journal or log was a way of &quot;asking for feedback&quot;.

Recently when searching for peer-reviewed science communication journals I came across &lt;a href=&quot;=http://www.aare.edu.au/97pap/maccj328.htm)&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;Using a self reflective journal to enhance science communication&lt;/a&gt;. This got me thinking that all people, not just scientists and students could use this method.</description>

		<description>What great questions to ask, Michelle! Hopefully the fact that you asked gets people to realize that it&#039;s something important to do. I&#039;d love to see that as part of the criteria for evaluating a vendor--what is their process for evaluating themselves. I&#039;d also love to see things like &quot;how do you ensure that your staff are continuing to develop professionally and have up-to-date skills?&quot; But that may be a personal pipe dream. ;-)</description>
